The Crew Strikes Back

FOTM

"The young skaters today are being shown cliffs. They're being shown triples, they're being shown medals but they're not being shown how to do it."
            - Chad Kuznicki

"CanAm just took a life of it's own and we definitely inflated our own egos at times but it was one hell of a ride."
            - Jeffrey Kidd

"To this day there's nothing I'd rather watch more than a Scott Cohen performance. It was like watching a great movie."
            - Jason Cohen

Welcome to the official online site of the CanAm Crew. 6 skaters from across North America showed that talent, drive and the love of what one does could overcome any disadvantage. This is an online experience that bridges the serious side and the relaxed side of artistic roller skating. Competitors on the floor, life long friends off. These 6 skaters pushed each other to exceed well beyond their limits. That motivation and love for their sport became their common bond which still lives today.

Please feel free to with feedback, questions, suggestions or requests.

"Skating has been the glue that has held together many of my life long friendships! I consider these people family and without skating I wouldn't have them and wouldn't have some of the best memories and experiences I have ever had. I love skating and everything and everyone that it entailed!"
            - Eddie Byrd

"I guess it is what it is. It became a brotherhood, plain and simple."
            - Tracy Black

4's SINGLES

1995 - "The Original" - Eddie Byrd, Jeffrey Kidd, Tracy Black, Chad Kuznicki
This is the original 4's tag team singles program by the CanAm Crew. This improved program brought them back out for an encore after the event and a second performance the next night.

1996 - "Pretty Woman" - Shayne Bayford, Jason Cohen, Chad Kuznicki, Jeffrey Kidd
With Jason being rushed to the rink from Midway airport, this performance almost never happened. A disappointing 3rd place finish in their minds, they reminded Shayne that they told him "not" to spin.

1997 - "Disco" - Chad Kuznicki, Jeffrey Kidd, Jason Cohen, Eddie Byrd
Being disappointed in themselves the year before, they started this program spoofing the previous year's champion The Indy Girls and their Macarana program. After some playful stalling the Crew turned up the level a bit and busted out all the great disco hits. Their scores? 99's across the board.

1999 - "Pimps" - Jason Cohen, Tracy Black, Eddie Byrd, Chad Kuznicki
Taking the 4's tag team singles to a new level, this year the guy's decided to get into character from the moment they stepped into the rink. The "Pimps" program also had the most content seen in a 4's tag team single event.

2000 - "Classical" - Eddie Byrd, Jeffrey Kidd, Chad Kuznicki, Jason Cohen
By far the longest introduction they've done, the Crew still followed the 4's tag team singles rules by improvising their entire performance and also spoofed other skaters in their performance. Eddie threw in his take of Craig and Lisa Belrose's freedance. Jeffrey Kidd threw in some April Dayney arm movements. Chad spoofed Eric Anderson and his blowing of kisses and Jason ... well, he spoofed himself.
