Cohen, Scott – Interview
Scott Cohen
5-time Men's Singles World Champion/USARS Hall of Fame
What has life been like for Scott Cohen after your artistic roller skating days?
Awesome!! I married my best friend and moved to Massachusetts and we since have had 5 children.
I had a short, yet successful career as a roller skating teacher and coach. My wife and I, along with my in-laws, teamed up in the mid nineties to choreograph routines for the World Class, Junior World Class Free Dance and OSP's.
I went back to school and became a first grade teacher. I've gone back to school since then to earn two more degrees so that I can become an administrator if I choose to. I had to give up teaching skating because there wasn't enough time for me to dedicate the time needed to really do it right. I found myself spread too thin and something had to go.
The travel for nationals, almost three weeks, and regionals was just too much for me.

Rob Ferendo
1987 World Dance Champion
What has life been like for Rob Ferendo after your artistic roller skating days?
I was ready to retire from rollers after ’87 Worlds, feeling I had accomplished what I set out to do. Up until that point, I had never felt "finished" at the end of a season.
Jerue, Tammy – Interview
Tammy Jerue
4-time World Pairs Champion/USARS Hall of Fame
What has life been like for Tammy Jerue after your artistic roller skating days?
Life after artistic roller skating has been amazing. My skating days were great too, but raising my 3 beautiful kids has been pheonominal. Nothing could ever compaire to watching them grow.
Do you remember when the last time you had a pair of roller skates on?
The last time I had a pair of roller skates on was in February for the skating reunion at The Holiday Skate Center in Orange. I had to wear rentals because my skates are petrified. It was pretty funny.
Kneisley Dulong, Tina – Interview
Tina Kneisley
3-time Ladies Singles & 3-time Pairs World Champion/USARS Hall of Fame
What has life been like for Tina Kneisley Dulong after your artistic roller skating days?
My last worlds was 1985 in Rimini, Italy. I was still in college at Bowling Green State University studying broadcast journalism. I worked at the University ice arena- home of Scott Hamilton. There were several good coaches there that took time with me, so I explored moving over to ice. I tried out with several pairs skaters and went to work with several coaches but I was tired of traveling and just wanted to graduate and get a good job and have a "normal" life. I did not relish the thought of starting over and traveling more, so I focused on graduating.
McGrew, Larry – Interview
Larry McGrew
2-time World Pairs Champion/USARS Hall of Fame
What has life been like for Larry McGrew after your artistic roller skating days?
Life has been good. I taught skating in addition to working a full time job for approximately 10 years. Life at that time became very hectic. My job moved me from Orange County to San Diego. Things go complicated because I was commuting from San Diego to Orange twice a week. It got to the point to where I realized I was not happy spending so much time on the road. I was constantly tired and it affected my full time job. I decided that I was not going to teach anymore. It was sad in a way because I felt I was letting down the skaters and their families. However I was extremely unhappy.
Medeiros, Heath – Interview
Heath Medeiros
3-time Men's Singles World Champion/USARS Hall of Fame
What has life been like for Heath Medeiros after your artistic roller skating days?
Life has had its ups and downs just like in the roller skating days. It took me a long time to morn the loss of my skating life; in 1994 I couldn’t wait to stop skating to have a “normal” life. However, the lack of direction for me left me floundering for a few years while trying to figure out “who am I now?” Finally I returned to school and became a massage therapist, which I now have passion for like I did for in my skating days. All in all it’s been a great life so far...

Price, Paul – Interview
Paul Price
3-time World Pairs Champion/USARS Hall of Fame
What was your significance to artistic roller skating?
What a great question to start this interview. I guess in some way any athlete always wants to leave his mark on his sport. I would have to say that for me it was attaining the highest quality and athleticism I could achieve at a time when artistic roller skating was at its peak. People may only remember the World Championship medals I won or the way Tina (Kneisley-Dulong) and I pushed pairs skating, but I considered myself an individual athlete as well as a pairs skater. Although I never achieved skating as a single skater on the World stage, I was proud during the 1980 and 1981 season to be the only male skater to make it into finals in three World Class events (pairs, freestyle, and figures).
